Eyecatching antique zamak sculpture of playing children . This sculpture was made in France appx. in 1900. It is signed La jeunesse, meaning the youth by Auguste Moreau.
Auguste Moreau (1834-1917) was a famous sculptor of France. He was born in 1834 in Paris. He was the son of Jean-Baptiste Moreau, a sculptor, who also worked as a painter and draughtsman. The artis was already taught by his father and was introduced by him in the craftwork of sculpture
The sculpture is made of Zamak/Zamac- a family of alloys with a base metal of Zinc and alloying elements of aluminium, magnesium and copper.
